The Silver group is designed for swimmers ages 9-11 (2nd – 6th) who have a desire to train for swimming beyond what a summer or seasonal team may offer. The workout structure of the group will be focused around refining stroke techniques, advanced turn work, reiteration of stroke technique through aerobic sets and preparation for meet participation. Swimmers can expect the workouts to increase slightly in intensity as the season progresses with focus centered on preparation for team meets.
Ability Requirements:
Swimmers in this group must display legal strokes in 3 out of 4 competitive strokes and possess a basic understanding of practice lingo and etiquette. Generally, most of the Silver swimmers will be able to swim a set of 10 x 50s on 1:30 and be able to compete a legal freestyle flipturn. All swimmers will also be participating in a small dryland circuit each day in conjunction with some running and calisthenics, so athletes must be able to run and participate in heartrate based activities.
Practice Requirements:
Swimmer must attend a minimum of 2 workouts per week.
Each workout begins with 15 minutes of stretching and dryland. All swimmers should participate in this part of practice.
Equipment Requirement:
Appropriate, well-fitting swimming attire
While we do not require boys to wear jammers (racing swimsuits), it is strongly recommended to best improved technique

Recommended participation in team meets and 1-2 meets per year

While Outdoor Pool is Open: M-F: 545-7p; Saturday: 1030-12p
Once Outdoor Pool Closes (~11/1): M-F 615-730p; Saturday 1030-12p
